L’UNI è l’ente nazionale italiano di unificazione, riconosciuto nell'Unione Europea, ed ha competenze specifiche nel campo dello studio, dell’elaborazione e nelle implementazione di normative riguardanti la corretta terminologia applicabile nel commercio. Rappresenta l'attività legislativa italiana presso l'Organizzazione Internazionale per la Normazione (ISO) e il Comitato Europeo di Normazione (CEN). L'UNI è competente nello studio e nell'implementazione dei regolamenti da utilizzare nell'industria per fornire la corretta terminologia relativamente alle caratteristiche delle gemme nell'uso commerciale. I criteri ed i parametri di valutazione devono essere costantemente aggiornati e uniformati a quelli che hanno maggior autorevolezza a livello internazionale. Dal 2015 Gem-Tech collabora attivamente come uno dei 4 membri della Commissione “Gemme e Metalli Preziosi” attraverso i propri mezzi e le proprie risorse professionali per adeguare ed uniformare le regole vigenti in Italia allo scopo di garantire la massima sicurezza da parte degli operatori della gioielleria e dei consumatori.
UNI is the Italian Association recognized by the Italian State and the UE in charge of performing regulatory activities across industry, trade and service sectors in Italy. It represents Italian legislative activity at the International Standards Organization (ISO) and European Committee for Standardization (CEN). UNI is competent for the study and the implementation of regulations to be used by the industry to provide the correct terminology and fairly disclose the actual characteristics of the gemstones for commercial use. Since 2015 Gem-Tech is actively contributing as one of the 4 members of the Commission for Gemstones and Precious Metals through its collaborators, staff and research programs. The work of the Commission consists in the evaluation to the current regulations applied worldwide and the elaboration of rules to be adopted in compliance with them. The purpose of the work is to provide the supply chain with clear information and safeguard the consumers’ rights.
